All of the components and visible component markings are correct for a late production Winchester M1 carbine in this serial number range. The trigger housing and hammer have Winchester "W" markings. It came from a collection of friends father in law. The features, parts and markings of these carbines are consistent with regular production carbines in the serial number range of 6,500-10,000. The lowest s/n observed to date is X056, the highest so far has been X623.

It is a type 3 and has the sling, oiler, 2 3 15 rnd magazines and one 10 rnd, original owners manual and even the warranty paper. The serial numbers on these carbines begin with the letter X followed by a three digit number.
